Faculty of Information and Communication Maejo University







The Faculty of Information and Communication was first established as the Division

of Agricultural Communication in 1985 under the Faculty of Agricultural Business which

provided many courses for degree students. In 1998, the division started to offer a Master Degree

Program in Communication Arts. The division attained faculty status on May 21st, 2006 and

was named the Faculty of Information and Communication. Beginning in 2009, the faculty

has offered new study programs in Digital Communications training for undergraduate and

graduate students to become highly qualified professionals and leaders of today’s and

tomorrow’s world.

Vision

The Faculty of Information and Communication was first established as the Division

Our primary purpose is to further the discovery, creation, communication, preservation

and application of wisdom.

In our teaching, research and scholarship, we are committed to creativity, innovation,

and excellence.

thinking, personal growth, and a passion for learning.

We serve the social and economic needs of our society though teaching, artistic

presentation, and community engagement.

Research and Creativity

Our teaching is informed by cutting edge research on the latest developments in

educational, political, and social applications of new wireless digital technologies, advertising

and social working, film, TV, music in media and digital communication.

We welcome the full exploration of intellectual boundaries and support faculty and

students in the creation of new knowledge and the pursuit of new ideas.

We are committed to research as an instrument for the improvement of humankind,

but also as a thoughtful and creative process through which faculty and students learn to pursue

meaningful inquiry in any area of communication and life.
