Faculty of Animal Science and Technology







The Faculty of Animal Science and Technology was the former Department of Animal

Technology, which belonged to the Faculty of Agricultural Production. By order of the

University Council Committee on July 27th, 2008, the Department of Animal Technology was

reestablished as the Faculty of Animal Science and Technology. The faculty is located at

252 Moo 8, Tambon Nongharn, Sansai District, Chiang Mai. The faculty’s regular color is

old rose or light salmon. The faculty first began to offer an undergraduate course in 1978,

and now offers both undergraduate and postgraduate courses for students, which can be

described chronologically as below:

? In 1975, it began to offer an undergraduate course (Bachelor of Science) program

? In 1985, it began to offer an undergraduate course (Bachelor of Science) program

? In 1980, it began to offer an undergraduate course (Bachelor of Science) program

? In 1995, it began to offer a four-year undergraduate course (Bachelor of Science)

? In 1995, it began to offer a four-year undergraduate (Bachelor of Science)

? In 1998, it began to offer a postgraduate course (Master of Science) program in

Animal Production Industry Management.

The Faculty of Animal Science and Technology began to offer an undergraduate program

in Animal Science (Poultry) in 1975. In 1998, it began to offer a Postgraduate Program in Animal

Production. Now it offers the following Bachelor Programs: Poultry, Dairy and Beef, Swine

Production and Animal Feed, Postgraduate Programs: Animal Science, Animal Production Industry

Management and Doctoral Program in Animal Science (International).

Philosophy
Develop knowledge through theoretical and practical learning processes in order to produce graduates who possess skills, positive attitudes, rational ways of thinking, morality and ethics.
 
Vision

The faculty is envisioned to be a leading Animal producer in Thailand.

Mission

The Faculty of Animal Science and Technology has six missions. The faculty aims to

combine these missions together to produce leading animal scientists. These six missions are:

1. To increase the efficiency of its educational system to produce graduates who possess

the knowledge and skills in animal science needed to survive the animal production

changes.

2. To conduct integrated research that benefits educational processes and services to

gain acceptance nationally and internationally.

3. To provide academic services and animal production cooperation for community,

public organizations and private organizations nationally and internationally.

4. To preserve traditions, culture, environmental resources and the environment

sustainably.

5. To create and develop an administrative system that has efficiency, effectiveness,

transparency and is auditable.

6. To standardize animal farming and enterprise to support teaching and learning

processes, research and academic services, and create income.
